Cooking with Cast Iron

I choose grilling in doors on my Lodge Cast Iron Grill over the gas grill most of the time.  Steak and cheese sandwiches are one of our family favorites.  They are quick and easy.

  • Flat Iron Steak (very tender and tasty for a very inexpensive cut)
  • Green Peppers
  • Onion
  • Worcestershire Sauce (3 splashes)
  •  Nature's Seasoning Blend
  • S&P
  • Garlic Powder
  • Provolone Cheese
  • Toast bread on grill
I don't have exact measurements for the spices.  I am one of those cooks that adds a little of this and a little of that.   I grill the steak til medium rare and the veggies until tender.

This looks so good!

Are the seasonings for the steak, vegetables, or both? Do you cook the steak and vegetables for equal amounts of time? What is Nature's Blend?

Paula, the seasoning is for both the steak and veggies. I cook the steak until med rare and the veggies until tender. Nature's Seasoning is by Morton. I use it on almost everything.

Sorry, for not having complete details, but as I added to the post, I'm one of those cooks who adds a little of this and a little of that and I don't follow recipes too well.

Cathy, those do look good. I've been using my cast iron griddle alot lately. I like it. But, there will come a day when I won't be able to use it because it is so heavy.

Yum, my hubby would love it if I would make those, so I may have to give it a whirl.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment about my knife and fork:)

I just drooled all over my screen. If I'm not careful, you're going to inspired me to cook more often.
